Top 20 Sports Governing Bodies – The Most Attractive Employers in Sport 2025

Our countdown to the Most Attractive Employers in Sport 2025 continues, and today we’re excited to reveal a highly prestigious category: Sports Governing Bodies.

These organisations are at the core of global sport - shaping competitions, setting rules, promoting development, and driving social impact. It's no surprise that many professionals dream of being part of these influential institutions.

The final rankings will be unveiled on May 8th, during the exclusive Awards Ceremony at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, as part of the iWorkinSport Convention & Job Fair.

This year’s Top 20 list reflects both the global reach and diversity of sports represented by these bodies. Out of the 20 selected organisations:

  • 13 operate on a global scale
  • 5 are national federations
  • 2 are continental confederations

In terms of disciplines, football leads with seven entries, while other sports - such as motorsport, skiing, tennis, rugby, volleyball, athletics, and more - also appear, underlining the broad appeal of working within governing bodies.

The shortlist was compiled based on a global survey conducted by iWorkinSport, which asked professionals:

“If you could choose to work anywhere in sport, where would that be?”

Respondents selected organisations across ten categories and ultimately indicated one overall “Employer of their Dreams.” This year’s study gathered input from more than 1,100 professionals in 55 countries, the majority of whom already work in sport.

In the Sports Governing Bodies category, the Top 20 most voted organisations, in alphabetical order, are:
